Providing Bespoke Funeral Advice

In order to register the death, you must take the correct documents. Here are the correct items that you need:
- The Cause of Death Medical Certificate
- The Deceased's National Health Medical Card
- The Deceased's Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate (If Applicable)

The registrar also needs information about the deceased. These include:
- Full Name of the Deceased
- Home Address
- Date and Place of Death
- Date and Place of Birth
- Last Occupation
- Date of Birth of Surviving Partner
- Whether the Deceased was in Receipt of a Pension or Allowance from Public Funds

If the deceased was a married woman, the registrar needs further information. This entails:
- Maiden Name
- Husband's Full Name (Even if Deceased)
- Husband's Last Occupation (Even if Deceased)

After you have provided all the previous information, the registrar gives you two certificates. The certificates are especially important, and are required for a funeral to occur. The certificates include:
- A Green Certificate: Must be handed to the funeral director so that the funeral can take place.
- A White Certificate: For social security purposes.

Our team are always happy to help with any questions, and we offer bereavement advice and funeral planning should you need it. Your needs are the most important thing to us, and our team understand that it is an extremely delicate time. Under certain circumstances the death must be reported by the doctor, hospital, or registrar to the Coroner (England and Wales) or Procurator Fiscal (Scotland). A post-mortem is carried out, and your funeral plans may be delayed. In this case there is no cause of death certificate, and the death is registered when the coroner has made a decision. Should you have any questions about this process at all, contact our experts.
